I am Owen Heck/Rayfield Owner of Tidewater Skate Shop Started Skateboarding in 1979. I was Five Years and my baby sitters big brother was a surfer/skater/punk rocker. I wanted to be just like him, so i begged my mom for a skateboard. My step dad made my first one and then i begged my grandmother for one and she took me to the bike shop where i got my first board. They drilled the holes for the trucks back then and ill never forget it. Now all these years later Im still skateboarding and my passion is spreading the stoke. Stop by the Shop and Lets Talk skateboarding

I Opened The Shop Because There Was Not A Skate Shop In the Area. With All Of the Public Skate Parks On The Western End of Virginia Beach and Woodstock and Trashmore Neighborhoods Away Providence Square Was The Obvious Choice. Plus Skate Shops Have Been Here Since The Early 80s from The Hall of Sports, to Flip Side. Cardinal Stared Just At The Other End Of Providence Road Too On South Plaza Trail. So This Shop Is Just Carrying On The Legacy Started Back Then. Ive Opened Direct Accounts With The Brands To Bring The Skateboard Industry Back To Virginia Beach. This Has Allowed Me To Get People Flow Sponsorships and That Is The Path To Pro Skateboarding
